OK Shelby collectors, here you have a rare chance to own a piece of automotive history. A #s matching 4-speed Candyapple Red GT 500 KR. Carol Shelby had the forsight to grab the KR (King of the Road) from Chevrolet to place it on the Shelby GT 500 KR. With this KR, came the introduction of the infamous 428 cobra-jet engine, and the rest was history. Underrating the engine to 330 hp was genius to pull the wool over the insurance companies. This KR has full documentaion which includes the Marti Report, Shelby Registry, original build sheet, and warranty documentation from Ford’s files showing the original owner’s work order papers. I’ve owned this Shelby for the last three years, and every year I treat her to some missing original parts, no expenses spared. Everything is in, from Date coded pollution equipment, starter delay switch, KR oil and battery guages, to rebuilt original Holley carb. She has 5 Shelby 10-spoke mags with original Goodyear Speedway tires and Koni shocks. Even the tilt-away restored steering wheel works great. The engine was pulled out to refresh the engine bay, and at the same time, bored 30 over to accept unleaded fuel.
