1969 Shelby GT
1969 Shelby
GT-500

Are you ready to own a
legend? This car is a BEAST.
This Shelby is a blast to drive
and when you strap yourself in to the three-point harness, you are
instantly transported to 1969.
This car gets looks
and double-takes whenever I drive it.
Lamborghini drivers
driving on Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach stare at this
car…
Kids take pictures of
it as their parents drive by…
People give you thumbs
up and make offers to buy it…
But the real fun is in
actually driving this beast, because of the 4 speed and the
amazing power the 428 Cobra Jet engine produces.
I’ve really enjoyed
owning this car – it is a pure adrenaline rush and instantly
produces smiles in its owner.
For most of my
ownership of this car I used newer tires and wheels because
the original tires didn’t grip well enough…
This Shelby’s
History
This 1969 Shelby
GT-500 is in un-restored condition.
I purchased it from a
friend in December of 2004.
Prior to my purchase,
this Shelby had sat for approximately 14 years, unused.
My first goal was to
make sure this car was mechanically sound and that all mechanicals
were brought back to stock.
So the car was sent to
my friend, Steve Strope and his team at PureVision (PureVisionDesign.com)
who did a tremendous amount of work over several months to get the
engine compartment back to original condition and also get the
engine, drivetrain and all mechanicals in top running condition -
so this car starts and runs incredibly strong with no mechanical
issues. (This at a cost of almost $18,000 – I have the
receipts)
A short list of just
some of the many things that Steve Strope and his team did:
Replaced exhaust
system
Replaced fuel tank
Suspension and
brake safety check
Electrical system
safety checked and troubleshot
Repaired /
replaced shock towers
Repair and replace
parts for the radiator
Rebuild engine
Weld in shock
tower brace
Inner fender
repairs
Purchased and
installed 428 exhaust manifolds
Purchased and
installed 428 finned valve covers
Complete carb
rebuild
Prior to my friend’s
ownership, this Shelby was drag raced and the original engine was
blown up, so it does not have its original engine,
but it does have a period-correct 428 Cobra Jet engine from a 1969
Mach 1.
This Shelby is an
original 4-speed, which seriously increases the fun factor, as
well as the prospective future value of this collectible vehicle.
The car was painted by
the original owner in this color blue – the original color for
this Shelby is Silver Jade.
Just for reference,
here’s an example of
the original color (Silver Jade) for this car:

There are minor
repairs on the body, (see photos) but the body is basically very
sound.
Prior to my ownership,
a garage fire occurred in the garage where this car was stored.
Fortunately, the fire
never touched this car, but the smoke did leave some soot
(staining) on this car. Most of this
smoke soot was easily cleaned off, but the driver’s side stripe
has some mild remnants of it that can’t be cleaned off.
The interior is in
excellent condition.
If your goal is to go
all out with a full restoration, you’ve got just about everything
you need in place with this car.
Even if you just
repair the minor body issues and give
it a quality paint job, this car will be amazing.
Take a look at the
photos and be sure to ask any questions you may have.
I’ve also included
photos of this car’s Marti Report – which gives pertinent details
about this particular car.
This Shelby is
registered with the Shelby American Automobile Club registry.
I’m located in
Southern California and I’m available to show the car to serious
buyers.
If transporting this
car, buyer to pay for insured transport.
Winning buyer must
deposit $1,000 via PayPal or wire transfer within 3 days of eBay
win / purchase.
Remaining proceeds to
be wire transferred to sellers account within 5 days of eBay
transaction close.
