1968 Ford Mustang GT500 Eleanor Convertible Recreation

I am pleased to present this incredible 1968 Ford Mustang Eleanor Convertible Recreation. Compare this with other Eleanors, and you’ll find much better quality and performance without the super premium price. It is currently California titled as a 1968 Ford and the VIN # is 8T03C121651. Mileage on the odometer shows 749 miles since the car was built. This machine is a serious head-turning, corner carving, show stopping, award winning orange rag-top rocket ship. Since orange is the new black, this truly is an amazing looking car. The pictures although they are clear, do not begin to do this car justice. The car is absolutely amazing.
As added prestige, this car was selected to be featured on the cover of a book entitled “Resto-Mod Muscle Cars” – A Showcase of the World’s Best Builds, Plus Ideas For Designing Your Own by Bill Holder and Phil Kunz. One of the authors saw this car on display at a car show and approached the owner about having it grace the cover of his upcoming book. The rest, as they say, is history. You would be very proud to own it, show it, drive it – whatever you choose to do with it.Overall impressions of this car are stunning. The detail work to the body, interior and mechanicals is beyond belief. It is a real headturner that runs strong and carves corners like a Porsche.EXTERIOR:Paint:The paint is Prowler Pearl Orange in basecoat and clearcoat. The entire body work was then professionally wet sanded to an absolutely mirror perfect finish. No thin spots on the high spots or lines of the body, no runs or cracks in the paint. The black accent stripes have Fireside Copper Pearl in them to accentuate the orange color of the car.Convertible:The convertible top is black cloth made by Cambria in Germany. It is absolutely stunning and will likely last a lifetime. The top is the same quality and manufacturer as used by Mercedes Benz.Eleanor Kit:The kit is from Mustangs Plus and includes Tri-Y headlamps, steel mounted Shelby lamp buckets and fully polished billet grille.INTERIOR:Brushed aluminum gauge cluster with Auto Meter gauges and a clock and volt meter in a custom Shelby console with the aluminum insert. The seats are Cerullo F1 buckets done in black leather with 3 inch RJS racing harness style seat belts, front and rear. The stereo is a new Pioneer AM/FM/CD pumping out 100 watts.MECHANICAL:Engine:The engine is a completely rebuilt 428 with the Tri-Power 6 pack on top. The leading edge carries an Edelbrock aluminum water pump, March billet pulleys, 7.5 quart aluminum Cobra oil pan & Cobra valve covers, Mallory billet distributor, Billet high-torque mini-starter, billet 12″ flywheel and Ram clutch. The engine bay has a full Total Control engine bracing. This engine was recently tuned with new plugs, wire, tuning the tri-power etc. The car is a monster!!Cooling:Cross flow aluminum radiator with electric thermostatic fan.Exhaust:3 inch Jet Hot Coated Super Comp headers expel the gasses to a functional dual Flowmaster side-exit exhaust with custom billet exhaust tips all without cutting the floorboards to make it fit. No rattles on the chassis just the sound of pure power.Transmission:Transmission is a rebuilt RUG-M2 top loader 4-speed topped with a Shelby Big-Block shifter with rebuilt linkages, rods and a chrome shifter handle with reverse lock-out.Suspension:Total Control front coil-overs with fully adjustable strut rods and control arms. Shocks are adjustable aluminum Vari-Shocks. Both ends are covered by large diameter sway bars. 4 wheel power disc brakes, slotted rotors, power steering. 8 inch rear-end is topped with all new brakes and 2.79 freeway gears. This car can carve!!Wheels:
