1968 Ford Mustang Eleanor
The General Lee. The Bandit. A 1978 Dodge Monaco with a 440 plant and full cop suspension. The Ferrari 308. These are cars which have transcended their own collectability thanks to exposure on the big and small screens. Add to that list the newest (and arguably coolest) movie car: The GT500 ..Eleanor.. from the remake of the cult classic Gone in 60 Seconds. Here is one of the finest examples of this new breed–a stunning custom charcoal and maroon combination with a Maier racing body kit, a Keith Kraft engine, a fully built suspension and a raft of custom touches!
This car, completed in 2006, is the definition of a no-expenses-spared restoration. More than $140,000 went into the build–that should give you some indication of the level of quality here! Starting with a bare shell, the body was blasted clean, repaired as necessary and modified top and bottom. Look over the pics from the lift–the front suspension was tossed in favor of a Mustang II setup with rack and pinion steering, tubular upper and lower control arms, a big ATCO sway bar and huge 13.. front rotors with six piston Wilwood calipers. The rear features a built 9.. with 3.70 gears suspended by Maier Racing drop leafs and located by a Maier Panhard rod and an adjustable rear sway bar. More Wilwood brakes with 12.. rotors and four piston calipers with integral parking brakes are back here, powered by a Hydroboost system and dialed in with a Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve. Koni shocks are at all four corners, working with the 245/45/17 front and 285/40/17 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires on Team 3 wheels to plant the chassis. Jet Hot coated headers lead into a 3.. exhaust with Borla XS mufflers and stainless tips for a wild exhaust note and plenty of power. In a nod to factory production the floors are painted in a medium red, although the paint has a ton of gloss as well as a metallic gleam. It..s just one of the subtle aspects that you have to look over the car multiple times to see!
A gem of a car deserves a gem of an engine, and this one doesn..t disappoint. The engine, a 351 Windsor based mill by the Ford experts at Keith Craft Racing, was stroked to 408 cubic inches and produces a verified 543 HP and 560 ft lbs of torque. The balance and blueprinted engine features 10:1 Mahle pistons, Scat H-beam polished rods, an Eagle steel crank, AFR 205 cylinder heads, an Edelbrock air gap intake, Holley 750 carburetor, an MSD blaster ignition and coil, Ford racing plug wires, an XS high torque starter, a Canton oil pan and pump and a big Comp Cams hydraulic roller. The exterior is augmented with polished Concept One serpentine pulleys and brackets, a polished alternator, power steering, A/C and fan, a Ram flywheel, pressure plate and clutch, a Griffin aluminum radiator, electric fans, an external oil cooler. Power flows back through a bulletproof Tremec TKO 600 transmission via an Aluminum bell housing and down a custom steel driveshaft to the 9.. out back. Smooth and VERY powerful this car does right by the movie Mustang..s reputation…and more!
Outside you..ll see the outstanding results of a lot of time in the body shop. The whole Maier Racing body kit was added, including the upper and lower nose section and grilles, front brace, fiberglass hood and flared deck lid, lower scoops, tail lights and lenses. The side skirts are custom, hand fabricated steel, the upper functional scoops are from Shelby, Hella Headlights with PIAA H4 star white high/low beams are in the nose, the driving lights are PIAA 510 series super whites and lower(clear) driving lights are PIAA 40S. The stripes were laid out, the stance was set and this one will go, baby, go!
The deluxe red interior is new from Shelby specialist Tony Branda Performance. New seat covers, a Shelby console and 2 point rollbar, 4 point harnesses and a Cobra steering wheel lend the vintage look. Auto Meter white face gauges (speedo, tach, fuel, water temperature, oil pressure and temperature) keep you informed, a Steeda Triax shifter with a custom handle stirs the TREMEC, the Vintage One air conditioning system keeps you cool and the Clarion am/fm/cd with hidden amps JBL speakers supply the tunes. You..re guaranteed to not get bored!
The project..s owner took the car to his largest local show, the 2006 London Speedorama in London, ON, and promptly took home Best in class, Best Mustang and Best of Show! Fewer than 150 miles have been put on the chassis since completion, which is enough to sort out the bugs but not enough to wipe away the show-fresh gleam. This could be THE nicest Eleanor tribute on the planet!

At Auction Close
Successful Winning bidder must call 440-951-3000 or email sale@RHcollectibles.com within 24 hours after the auction has ended to verify purchase and make arrangements to complete the transaction. Within (4) business days of the end of auction, full payment must be received either by bank to bank wire transfer, cashiers-check, approved bank draft, or certified funds. If funds are not received, and an alternate arrangement has not been made, the vehicle can and will be made available to other potential buyers on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Our Guarantee
We have disclosed as much information as possible about this vehicle and aim to only carry quality pre-owned merchandise. R&H Collectibles recommends vehicles be inspected BEFORE leaving our facility. If upon personal and/or authorized professional inspection of the eBay purchased vehicle at our facility, buyer finds a substantial discrepancy between the published report and actual vehicle, we will either correct the problem at no charge, work out a compromise, or refund all monies paid. Buyer will not be responsible for any eBay related fees and will be dismissed from any contractual obligation with eBay to purchase the vehicle if and only if inspection proves vastly different from published ad.
Shipping – Transport of Vehicle
Returns are allowed in the event the vehicle is shipped and you are dissatisfied. However, a 10% restocking fee applies and the return must take place within 7 days from receipt and the vehicle must have fewer than 100 miles difference upon return. Accepted Forms of Payment
R&H Collectibles accepts bank to bank wire transfers, cashiers checks, certified funds, or verified drafts from known/approved financial institutions. We also accept payment from online lenders Capital One Auto Finance, and eBay Finance. All buyers pay a $100.00 administrative fee plus a $50.00 documentary fee. Ohio buyers must pay 6.25% sales tax plus applicable Ohio fees. Out-of-state buyers are responsible for their own taxes, registration, etc. in their own states.
